 Russett in Laurel, MD

General Info

Russett is a beautiful new homes community located in western Anne Arundel County, Maryland.  It is a 3,500 home development begun in the 1990's located right off the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (Interstate 295) and Route 198 in Laurel, Maryland.  It is less than two miles from I-95 and is an easy commute to the Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Fort Meade, and Annapolis.

Russett is conveniently located close to shopping both within Russett, at the nearby Laurel Mall at Cherry Lane and Route 1, and at  a commercial strip along Route 198.  Russett is also near Laurel Park, a thoroughbred racetrack and a new public library opened in Russett in 1998.

Anne Arundel County was named for Lady Anne Arundel, wife of the Second Lord Baltimore who founded the colony of Maryland.  The county includes Baltimore suburbs in the north and a rural way of life in the south.  In the middle, is the fast-growing Annapolis area, the Maryland state capital and its 533 miles of shoreline along the Chesapeake Bay.
